This is a website I designed for a theoretical video store as a way to practice flash, particularly dealing with external content. All images and text on this website are loaded externaly so the owner could update the site at will without having to know any flash. I never got around to finishing it and the design of the site is not very appealing that's for sure but I posted it in my portfolio because it does display some typical advanced flash functionality I like to incorporate in my websites, for example:
- random backgrounds and sound for unique experiences on return visits
- external loading for faster user streaming and easy updating
- collapsable/expandable, moveable/dragable menus and textboxes
- fully functional scrollbars for dynamic textboxes
- intros to sections of the site play on first visit, but not on returns to the same section, new random backgrounds are loaded every time
- a function wich displays the appropriate special for the day, depending on what day the visitor is viewing the site (movies section)
- try clicking the power dial on that tv...nifty...
